Phoenix Rising Kung Fu San Soo located in southwest Oklahoma City is actively seeking students interested in learning this ancient martial art. We consider it an honor and a responsibility to perpetuate this martial art in its truest form as taught by the late Grand Master Woo.

Happy New Year!

This year, 2009, promises to offer many opportunities for the staff and students at Phoenix Rising.

The good news includes our first in a series of weapons seminars available to our students.

"Fighting Stick Fundamentals" will be held on Monday, January 12, 2009 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. The cost of this workshop is $40 and a pair of maple fighting sticks will be provided to all attendees. The workshop will focus on combat applications of fighting sticks.

A Visiting Master

UPDATE:

On November 11th, 2008 Master Schempp visited Phoenix Rising again.

As always it is a pleasure to work out with a Master of his caliber.

On June 3, our school was honored by a visit from a Kung Fu San Soo master from California. Master Tim Schempp, in town for one night only, treated Phoenix Rising students by teaching a class and working out with Sifu Latimer.

It is hard to say which our students enjoyed more, Master Tim's lessons or having the opportunity to watch Master Tim and Sifu Latimer work out together.

Watching these two masters of the art work out was a real treat! The speed and accuracy demonstrated by them was inspiring to all the students. It gave us a chance to see what we are capable of if we continue in our training.

We sincerely hope that Master Tim enjoyed his time with us as much as we enjoyed having him. We look forward to him visiting again if he should be in the Oklahoma City area.
